There are events that change the color of the thread that goes through them. Thus, by way of contrast, is how memory splits time into episodes. Whilst a single thread, its story is made up of disparate segments.
Existen hechos que cambian el color del hilo que los recorre. Así, por contraste, es como la memoria divide el tiempo en episodios. Si bien el hilo es único, su relato está hecho de segmentos dispares.
Along its length, however, coincidences appear: memoirs engraved in mirrored maps. Registered as twin realities, the event and its double become resonant, matched at a distance. With time, other pairs come up and are intertwined in a story of consecutive rhymes.
En su longitud, sin embargo, aparecen coincidencias: recuerdos grabados en mapas espejo. Registrados como realidades gemelas, el hecho y su doble entran en resonancia, emparejados a distancia. Con el tiempo, surgen otros tantos pares que se entrelazan en una historia de rimas sucesivas.
This is how certain happenings forever live in reference to previous ones. Strange symmetry. Perhaps only fate, or character, are able to make sense of a thread that memory has managed to tangle in recurring knots.
Así es como ciertas escenas viven para siempre en alusión a otras ya vividas. Extraña simetría. Quizá sólo el destino, o el carácter, sean capaces de dar sentido al hilo que la memoria se ha encargado de enredar en nudos recurrentes.
